These are hand block prints — ajrak and related traditional printing, where the pattern is stamped onto the cloth by hand, block by block, rather than run through a machine.

That is why no two lengths are identical, and why the small irregularities are the point rather than a fault. Some pieces carry additional handwork over the print.
